US Geological Survey (USGS) installs EqualLogic
U.S. Geological Survey, the world leader in natural sciences, consolidated its data storage operations in Reston, Virginia with a 35-terabyte EqualLogic installation. They think EqualLogic is the "foundation of the organization's initiative for more efficient IT operations, information sharing and disaster recovery."(1)
EqualLogic has enabled USGS to replicate its IT infrastructure to a Denver location for disaster recovery, and provides the backbone for agency-wide storage consolidation.
"EqualLogic has mastered the ability to offer products and services to businesses with a solution that suits the needs of the customer," said Steve Duplessie, founder and senior analyst of Enterprise Storage Group. "1,000 customers in a violently competitive marketplace in that short a time is a spectacular feat and speaks volumes about the products."
